Chicago Dancers provide relief for Katrina/Rita victims...
This past Friday night was a first in our Chicago dance community! Four very distinct dance clubs (Chicago Rebels, May I have This Dance, Swing'n'Country and X-Dance) came together to raise money for the Red Cross to help those affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
It was a smashing success. 200 individuals from vastly different backgrounds raised over $5500 for the Red Cross. An extraordinary event like this deserves Kudos.
Thank you to four clubs that made their common goal more important than their differences, the Chicago Rebels, May I have This Dance, Swing'n'Country and X-Dance.
Most especially thank you to each of the people that supported the dance and who gave so generously. Friday was a very special evening in many ways and may have given us a glimpse of the future of our Chicago dance 'community'!
